Arusha National Park

Monkey paradise

Let the adventure begin! After meeting our guide, we will head towards Arusha National Park . Here we will dedicate ourselves to our first day of safari: this park is famous for its blue monkeys and is the only park in the area where it is possible to see the beautiful Colobus monkeys! Here it is also possible to carry out a Walking Safari, a beautiful walk in the middle of the park in close contact with the animals, obviously escorted by the park rangers. What better way to start our adventure than by walking in nature?

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

We set off north and reach Tarangire National Park , famous for its wildlife, which are at their most spectacular between June and September, in the dry period. During this time thousands of animals, wildebeests, buffaloes and antelopes migrate towards the river in search of water. Lions, leopards and other predators follow the herds, obviously hunting their daily meal, and therefore following that famous circle of life. Tarangire is also home to over 500 varieties of birds, so we'll have our work cut out for us today with binoculars and spotting scopes. Will we already be able to see the famous lions?

In the evening we then move to Karatu, where we will spend the night.

Lake Manyara National Park is known for its tree-climbing lions (cool right?!) and the park covers 390sqkm and is a sanctuary of over 400 species of birds which include pink flamingos, pelicans, storks, Ibis and Egyptian geese. There is also a huge herd of buffalo and elephant - will we be lucky enough to see it? Fingers crossed!

We will also have the opportunity to visit a unique local village where representatives of more than 120 different tribes live together in peace: Mto wa Mbu . We get on our bicycles and enter the streets characterised by the scents and colours of local craftsmanship, from paintings to wooden objects, and pay a visit to the local market.

One of the largest craters in the world at 20 km wide, Ngorongoro is also one of the best wildlife viewing areas where you can even see black rhinos, if you're lucky! The crater is 2,286 m above sea level, surrounded by very steep walls and covers 260 square km. Over 30,000 animals live here, and almost half of them are zebras and wildebeests: it is no coincidence that Ngorongoro is listed as a world heritage site!

Don't forget your camera!

This is our last day in this spectacular park. We cross it all from north to south to look for the animals that we weren't able to see the previous days: we have to see them all by the end of the journey! In the evening we return to our accommodation in Karatu.
