Itinerary - Málaga: from the Coast to the Hidden Gems

Roundtrip flights are not included in the package, so you can choose from where and when you want to fly. The check-in and welcome meeting will be at the hotel in Málaga at 6pm.

Today is your last day to relax before we embark on our amazing journey; starting tomorrow, we'll be exploring more remote areas. After taking a stroll along the beach or through the charming streets of the historic center, we’ll have a delicious dinner featuring Andalusian specialties. Expect to taste pescaíto frito, Málaga's famous fried fish, paired with a refreshing glass of tinto de verano or local wine—an excellent introduction to Spain’s vibrant flavors!

Málaga, with its stunning beaches and rich history, is the perfect place to begin our coastal adventure. Start our morning by enjoying the golden sands of Malagueta Beach or the quieter Playa de la Misericordia. Relax under the Mediterranean sun, take a refreshing swim, or simply unwind at a cozy chiringuito (beach bar), where we will savor the local specialty—espeto de sardinas, freshly grilled sardines on skewers.

In the early afternoon, head east for a short trip to the charming seaside town of Nerja, just an hour's drive from Málaga. Famous for its crystal-clear waters and the spectacular Balcony of Europe, Nerja offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coast. Stroll through its picturesque whitewashed streets, or explore the hidden coves and beaches, perfect for a peaceful retreat. If we're feeling adventurous, we can even visit the Nerja Caves, a fascinating natural wonder with impressive stalactites and ancient cave paintings.

Upon returning to Málaga in the afternoon, immerse ourself in the city’s historic old town. Wander through the narrow streets and visit landmarks like the Alcazaba, the Moorish fortress offering panoramic views of the city and sea, and the impressive Málaga Cathedral, known for its unique unfinished tower. As evening falls, take a leisurely walk along Muelle Uno, where the lively harbor meets the old town, and settle in for a delicious dinner of Andalusian specialties like gambas al pil-pil or ajoblanco.

Ending our day with a relaxed evening drink, watching the sunset over the Mediterranean, and reflect on our perfect blend of beach relaxation and cultural exploration.

Start our day in Marbella, known for its stunning beaches and vibrant atmosphere. Begin with a relaxing stroll along the Golden Mile, soaking up the sun and enjoying views of the Mediterranean. For an unforgettable experience, consider a scenic boat ride along the coast, where we could admire the beautiful shoreline and perhaps spot some dolphins in the wild.

After our boat ride, unwind at Playa de la Fontanilla or the lively Nikki Beach, where we could take a refreshing swim or sip a cool drink at a beach bar. For lunch, indulge in fresh seafood at a beachfront restaurant, savoring local specialties like fried fish or grilled sardines.

In the afternoon, take a scenic drive to Ronda, approximately an hour away. Upon arrival, explore the iconic Puente Nuevo, the bridge spanning the dramatic El Tajo Gorge, and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Wander through Ronda's charming old town, discovering its narrow, cobbled streets and historic sites, including the Plaza de Toros, one of Spain's oldest bullrings.

Concluding our afternoon by relaxing in the Jardines de Cuenca, where we can enjoy lush greenery and stunning vistas before heading back, creating a perfect blend of Marbella’s coastal charm and Ronda’s rich heritage.

Starting our day in Antequera, a charming town known for its rich history and stunning landscapes. Begin with a delightful walking tour of the historic center, where we will explore landmarks like the impressive Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Stroll through the cobbled streets, admiring the beautiful architecture of the Iglesia del Carmen and the Plaza de las Descalzas, a lovely square filled with flowers and local shops.

After the tour, what about treating ourselves to a leisurely lunch at a local restaurant, sampling traditional Antequera cuisine, such as porra antequerana (a cold tomato soup) or solomillo al whisky (whiskey-marinated pork).

Join us for an authentic cooking class in Antequera that offers a true taste of Andalusian culture! This immersive experience begins with a warm welcome, where you’ll meet our expert local chef who will guide you through preparing traditional Andalusian dishes. Learn to make local favorites such as paella, gazpacho, and tortilla española, using fresh ingredients sourced from the nearby markets, ensuring a genuine taste of the region. As we cook, we’ll also enjoy a tasting of exquisite Spanish wines, thoughtfully paired to enhance the flavors of your dishes. After the cooking session, savor the delicious meal you’ve prepared, surrounded by the charming atmosphere of Antequera. In the morning, head to the Dolmens of Antequera, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to marvel at the ancient megalithic structures that date back thousands of years.

Enjoy afterward a leisurely hike through the El Torcal Natural Park, known for its unique limestone formations and stunning vistas, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers alike. Today will be a unique day as you will visit places you couldn’t anywhere else in Europe.

It’s now time to embark ourselves on an unforgettable adventure along the Caminito del Rey, one of Spain’s most breathtaking and thrilling hiking experiences. Nestled in the heart of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes gorge, this elevated walkway offers stunning views of rugged cliffs, deep canyons, and the crystal-clear waters of the Guadalhorce River far below. Our journey begins with a guided introduction to the history of the Caminito, once known as the most dangerous path in the world. Now fully restored, the trail provides a safe but exhilarating experience as you traverse narrow walkways suspended over 100 meters above the gorge floor. Along the way, we’ll be surrounded by jaw-dropping landscapes and native wildlife, making it a true immersion into Andalusia’s natural beauty

After completing the hike, please let´s reward ourselves with a well-deserved break, where we can sample local food and relax while reflecting on this thrilling adventure. The Caminito del Rey offers not just a hike, but a dramatic experience that blends nature, history, and adrenaline for an unforgettable day in southern Spain.

Begin our adventure with a drop-off in Villanueva de la Concepción, where we’ll embark on the 16 km journey of Stage 4 of the Mozarabic Camino de Santiago, heading toward the historic town of Antequera. This scenic route takes us through the heart of Andalusia’s countryside, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills, vast olive groves, and serene farmland.

The 16-kilometer trek is rich in both history and natural beauty, winding through traditional rural landscapes that evoke the timeless charm of southern Spain. As we walk, we’ll pass ancient farmhouses and quiet country paths, following in the footsteps of countless pilgrims who have traveled this trail for centuries. The peaceful surroundings and deep sense of history make this journey both physically rewarding and culturally enriching.

After completing our 16 km journey from Villanueva de la Concepción to Antequera, we’ll settle into a cozy albergue (pilgrim hostel) for a well-deserved overnight stay. These traditional accommodations offer a welcoming atmosphere, where we can relax, unwind, and meet fellow travelers who are also experiencing the Mozarabic Camino. Enjoy a simple yet hearty dinner typical Andalusian fare perfect for replenishing your energy after a day of walking.

Our night at the albergue is an opportunity to rest and reflect on the day’s journey, recharge for the days ahead, and immerse yourself in the communal spirit of the Camino. The simplicity and comfort of the albergue experience will make our overnight stay in Antequera a memorable and authentic part of our trip.

If we didn’t explore Málaga on our first day, today is our chance to dive into the city’s vibrant culture and stunning coastline. Start with a visit to the historic Málaga Cathedral and a stroll through Plaza de la Merced, where we can enjoy local cafés and see a statue of Pablo Picasso. Consider taking an excursion to nearby towns like Nerja, famous for its beautiful beaches and the Caves of Nerja, or the charming village of Frigiliana, known for its whitewashed buildings and scenic views.

In the afternoon, relax at Malagueta Beach or the quieter Playa de la Misericordia. Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch at a beachfront chiringuito, sampling local specialties like fried fish or grilled sardines. As night falls drop off the car and start experience Málaga's vibrant nightlife. Head to the trendy Soho district for tapas and live music, or enjoy a flamenco show at a local tablao. With a mix of cultural highlights, beach time, excursions, and nightlife, your day in Málaga will be unforgettable!
