Through WeRoad, you can book the trip and manage it in your personal area, just like any other WeRoad trip.
Guatemala, the land of eternal spring, is undoubtedly the most beautiful country in Central America, with its greatest cultural and natural diversity. During this trip, we will visit one of the most beautiful colonial cities in the world: Antigua Guatemala. Have you ever climbed an erupting volcano, slept at the summit, and witnessed the massive explosions up close? Well, this will be your chance to experience a magical adventure! We will visit colourful markets and villages and discover why Guatemala is culturally diverse. To do this, we will head to Lake Atitlán, a lake surrounded by 3 volcanoes and 12 villages. Here, we will learn about many traditions, hear new languages, and taste dishes that only exist in Guatemala—a true delight. We will venture into the small Guatemalan Amazon and spend time with a Garifuna community, the only
Caribbean-origin community in Guatemala. We will finish our journey through Guatemala in Tikal, the largest and most important Mayan complex in the world. Its pyramids are a marvel! We will then move on to Belize. Here, we will explore caves and float along the river in a tube. To end the trip, we will spend our last two days on Caye Caulker and visit the second-largest reef in the world. With that, we will say goodbye and return to England with countless memories and unforgettable experiences.
Tour Mood
360º - it's our great classic that allows you to discover the destination in all its aspects. We recommend packing a backpack rather than a suitcase as there will be lots of moving around.
Physical effort
HIGH - this itinerary involves hiking or similar adrenaline-pumping adventures so a high level of physical effort and adaptability is required. Be prepared for an active trip, potential long transfers and adventures like no other!
We will climb a 3,900-metre-high volcano and sleep in tents. In Guatemala, traffic can be very heavy, and on one of the days, we may spend many hours on the road. Backpacks are required to optimise space in the transports. The rest of the time, we will sleep in hotels and interact a lot with the locals to learn about their cultures and traditions. We will be in the jungle, so remember not to feed any animals we might encounter along the way. In Belize, we will go scuba diving or snorkelling, so don't forget to respect marine life.
